The renovation of the house involves a renewed entrance where the internal staircase will also be modified. Also, the kitchen will be slightly extended and completely renewed. The new entrance adds a neutral yet distinguished character to the home. In relation to the driveway and the prominent tree in line with the current entrance, the renewed entrance does not lose its decisiveness due to its proportions, but forms an appropriate whole in both the façade plane and in its relationship with the surroundings. The entrance will include a house elevator connecting the ground floor to the second floor. The added space on the second floor, the fenestration and sloping roof of the entrance will also allow more light into the stairwell behind. Here the staircase will be completely renewed and the new floors will be at the same level as the current one of the second floor. To expand the kitchen, the corridor between the stairwell and the pool sas will be added to this space.
It is chosen to use a brick of similar color and shape to the existing ones. These, unlike the current bricks, are placed in a vertical line so that the entrance does not lose its function in the façade plane. The second material, white brick, is used for the columns, the rear façade plane of the entrance, the cornice and the sills. The exterior joinery of the fenestration will probably be realized in steel. The narrow profiles allow the size of the window to be more incorporated into the design and brings a refinement to the whole. The steel also links the stairwell to the entrance area, as the balustrades will be executed in the same material. The choice and application of these materials will make the building ensemble of the entrance area more harmonious.
