Kantoorgebouw ABB Jumet

Back
Conversion of an existing office building for ABB Benelux in Jumet. The existing office building was completely rebuilt, nothing was changed to the industrial part. The conversion provides a new facade, improves the entrance of the office and provides a functional rearrangement of the offices. The facade is composed of two different materialization types. The older section, composed of a steel structure, has been renovated with profiled metal dark gray façade panels, with a concrete plinth at the bottom. At the rear section, the existing load-bearing facade masonry has been left intact, but the facade has been given a new appearance by plastering in a light gray color. The entrance to the building is accentuated by a large canopy supported on two large steel angled columns. There are open office areas, called landscape offices, and closed areas that serve as separate office spaces and meeting rooms. For the interior, the choice was made to start from a clear layout with a quiet base. This means tightly plastered white walls, window and door frames in a gray color and a linoleum gray floor. From this layout, an orange accent color was continued throughout the building.
